AIDAperla is the second Hyperion Class ship built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industires (MHI). AIDAperla is the largest passenger ship built in Japan. The Hyperion Class vessels are the first ships to use MHI's proprietary technology Mitsubishi Air Lubrication System (MALS) - see also this article at www.marineinsight.com.
